Classroom Management for the 21st Century
Management of environment, curriculum, and students.
There is a one-to-one relationship between the way an
individual feels in an environment and the effort they put
into whatever is going on in that environment. Success
breeds continued effort, failure breeds fear of trying and
revenge seeking. How can we structure the learning environment
to facilitate success in learning and minimize
behavior problems?
Behavior Management -From Obedient to Responsible
How an we move students from resistance to authority
to acceptance and responsibility for individual actions
and behavior?
Developing Attitudes of Gratitude
How can we help students to recognize their individual
strengths and weaknesses, seek help when needed, and
be available to help others when asked? How can we
promote cooperation, synergy, and competition for balance
and performance? How can we build pride in work?
We’re All In This Together
Parents/caregivers are a vital link in the foundation for
student success. Let’s offer them training too. They need
updates brain research on learning, adolescents, homework
benefits, time management, discipline,etc.
The Principal as Instruction Leader/ Clinical Supervisor
The primary focus of principals in the past has been on
budgets, busses, and behavior problems! This is no longer
the case. The principal sets the tone of the building, focuses
faculty meetings and staff development sessions on the
needs of staff and students, and observes and conferences
with teachers. What new research is needed to maximize
this vital role?
Help teachers to realize they each
personify the WIZARD OF EGO, a
mere mortal who cannot GIVE their
students brains,, compassion,
courage and a sense of “home.”
Teachers can GUIDE students
on how to use and maximize what they inherently have,
